When you're tearing your hair out at work, take a walk. A brisk lunchtime walk has been proven to help with the perception of stress, leaving you feeling calmer and in control for the afternoon stint at work.
Wealth & Wellness Walk Format
- 12:00 PM: Before you set out on your walk, watch the week's featured video (90 seconds).
- 12:02 PM: Lace up your walking shoes and walk out the door. Spend your first few minutes in silence as you leave your most recent tasks behind and focus on your new surroundings.
- 12:05 PM: Recall the video you just watched and ask yourself how it relates to you, your financial situation, your life goals. Spend 10 minutes allowing your mind to wander as you take in new surroundings and ponder questions that arise from your personal wealth and wellness walk. If you are walking with a friend, feel free to spend this time in conversation.
- 12:15 PM: Focus. Focus on your intention for today's walk. Are you walking as part of your commitment to physical fitness, your overall wellness, or to dedicate focused time away from your responsibilities to focus on your future goals? Whatever your intention is, spend 10 minutes focusing on every detail that comes along with it.
- 12:25 PM: Set a S.M.A.R.T. goal as it relates to your intention. (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound). When you return back, write it down and schedule it into your calendar.
